Esta tese, inserida nos campos da Psicologia e da Educação, tem como objetivo analisar a supervisão no contexto da formação continuada do educador social, verificando, a partir da perspectiva do próprio educador, se ela é fundamental para a sua formação crítica e reflexiva, assegurando-lhe a construção da sua autonomia para o trabalho socioeducativo. Para tanto, dois planos de estudos são percorridos: o teórico e o prático. No campo teórico, estuda-se autores que discutem a supervisão na educação formal, ou seja, a escolar, bem como no contexto do trabalho socioeducativo. A partir disso, apresentamos algumas características de um processo de supervisão que servem de referência para o desenvolvimento do segundo plano, o prático, o qual corresponde à pesquisa de campo, com a participação de seis educadores sociais, de nível universitário, atuantes na cidade de São Paulo e arredores, que já vivenciaram e/ou estão vivenciando um processo de supervisão voltado para a prática cotidiana. Por meio da análise do material disponibilizado pelos sujeitos, composto do relato de duas experiências de atendimentos realizados por eles, sendo um submetido à supervisão e outro não, e uma entrevista presencial, é verificado o sentido que esses educadores atribuem à supervisão para a sua formação. E-supervision has a potential role in addressing speech-language personnel shortages in rural and difficult to staff school districts. The purposes of this article are twofold: to determine how e-supervision might support graduate speech-language pathologist (SLP) interns placed in rural, remote, and difficult to staff public school districts; and, to investigate interns’ perceptions of in-person supervision compared to e-supervision. The study used a mixed methodology approach and collected data from surveys, supervision documents and records, and interviews. The results showed the use of e-supervision allowed graduate SLP interns to be adequately supervised across a variety of clients and professional activities in a manner that was similar to in-person supervision. Further, e-supervision was perceived as a more convenient and less stressful supervision format when compared to in-person supervision. Background: Evidence-based treatments for child mental health problems are not consistently available in public mental health settings. Expanding availability requires workforce training. However, research has demonstrated that training alone is not sufficient for changing provider behavior, suggesting that ongoing intervention-specific supervision or consultation is required. Supervision is notably under-investigated, particularly as provided in public mental health. The degree to which supervision in this setting includes ‘gold standard’ supervision elements from efficacy trials (e.g., session review, model fidelity, outcome monitoring, skill-building) is unknown. The current federally-funded investigation leverages the Washington State Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Initiative to describe usual supervision practices and test the impact of systematic implementation of gold standard supervision strategies on treatment fidelity and clinical outcomes. This paper provides a review of the
design and experience of risk-based pension fund supervision
in several countries that have been leaders in the
development of these methods. The utilization of risk-based
methods originates primarily in the supervision of banks.
In recent years it has increasingly been extended to other
types of financial intermediaries including pension funds
and insurers. The trend toward risk-based supervision of
pensions is closely associated with movement toward the
integration of pension supervision with that of banking and
other financial services into a single national authority.
Although similar in concept to the techniques developed in
banking, the application to pension funds has required
modifications, particularly for defined contribution funds
that transfer investment risk to fund members. The
countries examined provide a range of experiences that
illustrate both the diversity of pension systems and
approaches to risk-based supervision, but also a commonality
of the focus on sound risk management and effective

The assessment of the current state of
the implementation of the Basel Core Principles (BCP) for
effective banking supervision in Nigeria, against the BCP
methodology issued by the Basel Committee on Banking
Supervision (BCBS) in October 2006, was completed between
August 27 and September 19, 2012, as part of a Financial
Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) update, undertaken jointly
by the Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, and reflects the
regulatory and supervisory framework in place as of the date
of the completion of the assessment. An assessment of the
effectiveness of banking supervision requires a review of
the legal framework, both generally and as specifically
related to the financial sector, and a detailed examination
of the policies and practices of the institutions
responsible for banking supervision. Banking systems differ
from one country to another, as do their domestic
circumstances. The BCPs are capable of application to a wide
range of jurisdictions whose banking sectors will inevitably
include a broad spectrum of banks. The co-ordination of the
activities of the Nigerian banking sector supervisory

of Nigeria (CBN)/Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation

Despite the intense debate on the
advantages and disadvantages of adopting integrated
supervision that has taken place in recent years, little is
known about the experiences of countries that have adopted
it and the obstacles and challenges they have faced to
implement it. In an attempt to shed light on this area, the
authors present the results of a survey conducted in a group
of 15 countries that have adopted integrated supervision.
After a brief review of the literature on integrated
supervision, the authors examine four topics: 1) The reasons
cited by this group of countries for establishing an
integrated supervisory agency. 2) The scope of regulatory
and supervisory powers of these agencies. 3) The progress of
these agencies in harmonizing their regulatory and
supervisory practices across the intermediaries they
supervise. 4) The practical problems faced by policymakers
in adopting integrated supervision. The survey revealed that

Although keeping bank supervision
independent from macroprudential supervision may ensure more
checks and balances, placing bank supervision in the central
bank could exploit synergies with macroprudential
supervision. This paper studies whether placing
microprudential supervision of banks, typically the systemic
part of the financial system, under the same roof as
financial stability policy, typically entrusted to the
central bank, can improve financial stability. Specifically,
the paper analyzes whether having bank supervision in the
central bank mitigated the likelihood of banking crises
during 2007–12. The analysis conditions on crisis indicators
commonly found in the early-warning models of banking
crises, the quality of microprudential supervision, and the
quality of macroprudential supervision. The authors find
that countries with deeper financial markets and those
undergoing rapid financial deepening can better foster
financial stability when they put bank supervision in the
central bank.

Objective: To evaluate the benefits of induced farrowing with supervision on rates of stillbirths and preweaning mortality. Materials and methods: A total of 159 multiparous sows were assigned in approximately equal numbers to two groups. Group One sows (n = 75) were induced to farrow using two intravulvar injections of 5 mg prostaglandin F2α administered 6 hours apart on day 114 of gestation (Day 0). Farrowing was supervised, with assistance given as required. Group Two sows (n = 84) were allowed to farrow naturally, with supervision and neonatal care standard for the production facility. All live piglets were weighed at 3 days and 21 days of lactation. Results: Of the Group One sows, 56 farrowed during working hours on Day 1. There were fewer stillbirths per litter in Group One than in Group Two sows (0.4 ± 0.09 versus 1.0 ± 0.17, respectively). There was no effect of treatment on overall preweaning mortality. Weights were greater for Group One than for Group Two piglets at both 3 days of age (1.9 ± 0.04 kg versus 1.7 ± 0.02 kg, respectively; P < .01) and 21 days of age (5.7 ± 0.06 kg versus 5.5 ± 0.05 kg, respectively; P < .01). Hintergrund der Fragestellung ist die Zunahme von Qualitätsdiskussionen und -maßnahmen im Bereich sozialer Institutionen seit Mitte der 90er Jahre, die z.T. aus betriebswirtschaftlichen Zusammenhängen stammen. Indem die vorliegende Arbeit den Blick auf das feldeigene Verfahren der Supervision lenkt, will sie einen Kontrapunkt zur vorausgehenden Entwicklung einer betriebswirtschaftlichen Überformung sozialer Institutionen setzen.
These der Arbeit ist, dass Supervision ein originäres Qualitätsinstrument der Sozialen Arbeit ist, an das für eine effektive Qualitätsentwicklung angeknüpft werden kann, ohne die Irritationen, Fehlentwicklungen und den Mehraufwand zu bewirken, die durch rein ökonomische Verfahren leicht verursacht werden. La Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica (EPOC) es una
enfermedad infradiagnosticada y con una elevada morbimortalidad, caracterizada por
la presencia de obstrucción crónica, progresiva y poco reversible al flujo aéreo. Entre
los principales factores de
riesgo para
su
desarrollo se
encuentra

el consumo de
tabaco
y la exposición pasiva al mismo

Ambos factores

presencia en los centros penitenciarios, en los que, además, el bajo nivel educativo,
el sedentarismo y la tendencia al sobre
peso, las frecuentes situaciones
socioeconómicas de desventaja y el difícil acceso a los recursos sanitarios favorecen

BACKGROUND Health professionals practising in countries with dispersed populations such as Australia rely on clinical supervision for professional support. While there are directives and guidelines in place to govern clinical supervision, little is known about how it is actually conducted and what makes it effective. The purpose of this study was to explore the enablers of and barriers to high quality clinical supervision among occupational therapists across Queensland in Australia. METHODS This qualitative study took place as part of a broader project. Individual, in-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with occupational therapy supervisees in Queensland. The interviews explored the enablers of and barriers to high quality clinical supervision in this group. They further explored some findings from the initial quantitative study. RESULTS Content analysis of the interview data resulted in eight themes. These themes were broadly around the importance of the supervisory relationship, the impact of clinical supervision and the enablers of and barriers to high quality clinical supervision. This paper presents the latest update of
the World Bank Bank Regulation and Supervision Survey, and
explores two questions. First, were there significant
differences in regulation and supervision between crisis and
non-crisis countries? Second, what aspects of regulation and
supervision changed significantly during the crisis period?
The paper finds significant differences between crisis and
non-crisis countries in several aspects of regulation and
supervision. In particular, crisis countries (a) had less
stringent definitions of capital and lower actual capital
ratios, (b) faced fewer restrictions on non-bank activities,
(c) were less strict in the regulatory treatment of bad
loans and loan losses, and (d) had weaker incentives for the
private sector to monitor banks' risks. Survey results
also suggest that the overall regulatory response to the
crisis has been slow, and there is room to improve
regulation and supervision, as well as private incentives to

Risk-based supervision of pension funds
grew out of a project that was jointly conducted by the
World Bank and the International Organization of Pension
Supervisors (IOPS). The project was initiated in response to
the increasing interest in the development of innovative
approaches to pension supervision from the member countries
of both institutions. The volume provides an initial
assessment of the development of risk-based supervision of
pension funds in four countries that have been pioneering
the development of risk-based supervision methods in various
forms. The volume is comprised of a summary chapter and
in-depth studies of the experience in four individual
countries-Australia, Denmark, Mexico, and Netherlands. These
four country studies were prepared by experts familiar with
the systems in each of the countries. The studies have been
edited by World Bank staff to ensure a consistent approach
to the analysis of the various countries' systems.

The global financial crisis has
uncovered a number of weaknesses in the supervision and
regulation of cross border banks. One such weakness was the
lack of effective cooperation among banking supervisors.
Since then, international bodies, such as the G-20, the
Financial Stability Board and the Basel Committee have
actively promoted the use of supervisory colleges. The
objective of this paper is to explore the obstacles to
effective cross border supervisory information sharing. More
specifically, a schematic presentation illustrating the
misalignments in incentives for information sharing between
home and host supervisors under the current supervisory
task-sharing anchored in the Basel Concordat is developed.
This paper finds that in the absence of an ex ante agreed
upon resolution and burden-sharing mechanism and
deteriorating health of the bank, incentive conflicts
escalate and supervisory cooperation breaks down. The
promotion of good practices for cooperation in supervisory
colleges is thus not sufficient to address the existing
incentive conflicts. What is needed is a rigorous analysis

L’objectif principal de ce mémoire est d’identifier les antécédents organisationnels de la supervision abusive. Alors, un modèle intégrant la culture organisationnelle a été élaboré.
Les données primaires recueillies par l’Équipe de Recherche sur le Travail et la Santé Mentale (l’ERTSM) auprès de 2162 employés de 63 établissements au Québec de septembre 2009 à mai 2012 ont permis de tester nos hypothèses.
Les analyses multiniveaux réalisées corroborent une relation significative entre la culture organisationnelle et la supervision abusive. Les résultats ont montré que la culture de performance est positivement reliée à la supervision abusive contrairement à la culture de relations sociales. Aussi, ces analyses révèlent que certains subordonnés seraient plus enclins à rapporter de la supervision abusive que d´autres. Enfin, d’autres caractéristiques organisationnelles comme la taille de l’établissement pourraient être associées à la supervision abusive.; The main objective of this thesis is to identify the organizational antecedents of abusive supervision. Les différents acteurs impliqués dans la formation pratique en milieu scolaire doivent composer avec les réalités culturelles et territoriales des régions du Québec. Les étudiants issus des régions éloignées des universités souhaitent retourner dans leur milieu d’origine afin d’y réaliser un de leur stage. L’omniprésence des technologies de l’information et des communications (TIC) dans les milieux scolaires et universitaires et l’exigence du Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec (MEQ) (2001) à développer une compétence professionnelle qui vise à intégrer les TIC aux fins de préparation, de pilotage et de gestion de l’enseignement concourent à mettre en place un modèle de supervision qui puisse répondre aux exigences liées au domaine de la formation pratique. Les enjeux sont de taille et méritent que l’on s’y attarde. Prenant en considération le fait que l’observation et la communication entre les différents partenaires de la supervision du stagiaire sont à la base d’une formation efficiente qui puisse répondre aux besoins des étudiants, la présente étude propose un modèle de supervision pouvant accroître la présence des universités dans les milieux plus éloignés et ainsi assurer un accompagnement optimal des stagiaires sur l’ensemble du territoire québécois.

O estudo intitulado “A supervisão de estágios em Enfermagem e Articulação Interorganizacional Escola de Enfermagem e Hospital” debruça-se sobre as orientações e as práticas de supervisão de estágios em Enfermagem como analisador dos fenómenos de Articulação interorganizacional Escola de Enfermagem e Hospital. Os objectivos primordiais deste estudo são: identificar modelos de análise à supervisão de estágios em Enfermagem na articulação interorganizacional entre a Escola de Enfermagem e o Hospital; compreender as lógicas de supervisão de estágios em Enfermagem; caracterizar sociologicamente as articulações em contexto de acção concreta; contribuir para esclarecer alguns aspectos relativos ao contexto de trabalho hospitalar como local de formação e educação dos alunos estagiários de Enfermagem. Reviewed literature revealed that clinical supervision is a conceptually sound learning model, which, unfortunately, is flawed by problems of implementation. Some of the more glaring problems include limited emphasis upon problem-solving, lack of clear expectations for student performance, inadequate feedback to students, inappropriate role models in clinical settings and inadequately prepared clinical teachers. The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the nature of clinical supervision and support provided to bridging programme students in the clinical settings. Participants were drawn from three nursing colleges and 122 participants returned questionnaires. College 1:26,2% (n=32), College 2:15,6% (n=19) and the majority, 58, 2 % (n=71) were from College 3. The participants were second year students in the Bridging Programme. Purposive sampling was used for the selection of the hospitals. The researcher purposively selected those hospitals offering the Bridging Programme. The students were randomly sampled. According to Burns and Grove (2001), simple random sampling is the most basic and most effective of the probably sampling methods.
