Trata-se de um estudo sobre a hist?ria da educa??o rural no Par?, entre 1889-1897. A inten??o ?ltima ? conhecer, a partir da pesquisa hist?rica, como se deu a educa??o rural do Par? na Primeira Rep?blica, tendo como foco os governos provis?rios de Justo Chermont e Huert Bacelar e o governo constitucional de Lauro Sodr?. Nosso objetivo geral ? entender como a educa??o para homens e mulheres do interior do Par? foi pensada e operacionalizada no plano governamental. The research presents a study about the evasion of young people and adults from classes in the early years of EJA (young and Adults education). The chose to search this phenomenon is the result of several studies processes in the researcher groups MovSE (social movements, public school and Popular Education) e FePr??xiS (philosophy, education and Social praxis) of Education College, Federal University of Pelotas. In the process there was the identification of the theme relevance in Brazilian educational scene and the education recognition of young and adult as a problem that marks the history of education in Brazil and in Pelotas with regard to the schooled teaching. The theoretical and methodological benchmark, in a qualitative base, aligns the dialectics Materialist Historical prospect. We opted for a case study accomplished in an outskirts school of Pelotas city. The data collection strategies were observations and interviews, in 2012, with the directive team (principal and pedagogical coordinator) and two teachers of early years classes in EJA. 24 students who left school in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 years, were also interviewed in their homes. The current work concerns a higher education institution which represented the genesis of the teacher training oriented courses in Rio Grande city. This was the Faculdade Cat??lica de Filosofia de Rio Grande (1960-1969), sponsored by the Mitra Diocesana de Pelotas until 1969, when it was ceded to integrate the University of Rio Grande. An analysis of its institutional history, mainly focused upon the early years of the Philosophy and Pedagogy courses. From that point, tries to ascertain the meaning and the purpose of establishing in this city, teacher training oriented courses on a high educational level. It also intends to give visibility to those who contribute to the functioning of this institution. Besides keeping alive the memory of the Catholic Faculty of Philosophy it also contributes to the History of Education with a new work concerning higher education. Emphasis is given to the lack of teacher training oriented courses at university level, until the 1960s in Rio Grande. This would have caused a repressed demand of candidates, especially women yearning for that education and training. Suggests that Mitra s pioneering action was crucial. This study presents the analysis from the production of Ler a Jato primer and the Literacy audio-phonographic method in 15 hours, written by the teacher Gilda de Freitas Tomatis, at 1960 decade, in Rio Grande do Sul. The period of this study considered the 1967 year, when it was edited the first primer sample of Ler a Jato until 1986, was the last date found during this research. For the data analysis it was done a crossing of the documents with the oral sources. Related to the oral sources, it was considered the semi structured interview with the teacher Gilda de Freitas Tomatis‟ daughter in Porto Alegre city, in October of 2010. Related to the documents were considered: photos, books, primers, vinyl discos, certificates, medals, a view from Researches Center and Educational Advising from Education and Culture Bureau of 1968, all them including a detailed evaluation about the Ler a Jato primer. Some of these documents were donated by the teacher Gilda Tomatis‟ daughter, along with other documents acquired at tallow and websites. The theme of this thesis is the study of the trajectories of readers who come from the rural area; its main objective is to understand the development of reading practices through the analysis of individual structures, by investigating: a) the social circumstances of the past which contributed in the process of incorporating reading inclination.; b) the means and the modes of reading and the reading appropriation of six rural actors. The theoretical tenets which guided the analysis are related to the history of reading studies, regarding the proposals of Roger Chartier, and the sociology of reading and the culture concepts discussed by Bernard Lahire. The investigation was performed with individuals living in the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul State, known in their locale as assiduous readers. They are six readers, four men and two women born and raised in the rural area, over 70 years old, with poor schooling and daily reading in a non-professional way. The methodological approach is related to the proposal of sociology on an individual scale, in which the individual must be deeply investigated, to apprehend the inner plurality of unique individuals. This thesis proposes to characterize the school culture produced in the female confessional boarding school called St. Joseph in the city of Pelotas, analyzing its foundation and the repercussions of the educational project developed in that context. Promoting the upbringing of "docile, well educated and Christian girls" in line with the Catholic and hygienist family model, own of the first decades of the twentieth century, this culture simultaneously reproduced the existing social relations, also provided loopholes to the construction of a resistance behavior. From the understanding of the relationship between State, Church and Education, I assume the Historiography as the theoretical-methodological approach to the implementation of this research. Through the use of triangulation of plural sources - the architecture of boarding school and its furniture, the uniforms, the Registration Books of Externato and Boarding school, the rules, the minutes of the Associations linked to the institution, some ads in local newspapers, private papers of Religious Congregation, photographs and narratives of ex-boarders and religious women who worked at the boarding - I try to understand how this culture was incorporated by the boarder students. The core thesis developed by this study is that the global movement of renewal in the teaching of mathematics, known as the Modern Mathematics Movement (MMM), has established itself in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in a heterogeneous fashion, due to a set of actions orchestrated by different subjects in different teaching/teacher s education/research institutions. Such movement has influenced the local didactic production, leading to the reformulation of the collection entitled Estrada Iluminada ( Lighted Path ) which, under the new title Nossa Terra Nossa Gente ( Our Land Our People ), introduces the Modern Mathematics under the strong influence of the studies of the Hungarian mathematician Zoltan Paul Dienes. The MMM was originated in the mid 1960s, a period that was marked worldwide and in Brazil as well, by important discussions about the necessary renewal of mathematics teaching. In Rio Grande do Sul, however, there had already been a concern with teacher s education since the 1950s, thanks to studies in the field of cognitive psychology, mainly represented by Jean Piaget. This thesis is a study about the Fine Arts School of Pelotas Escola de Belas Artes de Pelotas (EBA or EBAP) , a higher education art teaching institution that had great importance to the visual arts development in the city of Pelotas, being at the origin of the present Centro de Artes of the Universidade Federal de Pelotas (CEARTE/UFPEL). The work inserts itself in the teaching institutions history field and is anchored to the theoretical proposal of Cultural History and Education Sociology. The time period examined runs from1949 to 1973, limits that correspond respectively to the year of the foundation and the year when the private school became a federal institution, being incorporated to the Universidade Federal de Pelotas. The thesis aims to understand why EBA embraces academicism as its art style and pedagogical method in the mid 20th century, when modern art is being generally embraced, and keeps this preference until the end of the sixties. This thesis has the objective to describe how a group of blind people explains its graduation in higher education, identifying the factors associated with this conclusion, in the light of L. S. Vygotski s studies. Methodologically, the thesis consisted in a qualitative study, assuming the form of case studies. The research counted on the participation of nine blind people based on the following criteria: being blind and being higher education egresses. The instruments to collect data were the interview and the document analysis. The collected data were worked out through the discursive textual analysis. The theoretical framework brought information pertaining to the participation of blind students in higher education; definition of terms blind and disability; social movements influence on the blind; inclusion of disabled people in higher education; the presence of obstacles for the blind to attend higher education; and the role of professors who work with visually impaired students.It included the presentation of psychological-pedagogical propositions about blindness, arising from investigations developed by Vygotski in the context of his defectology, which resulted in a reorganization of the texts of Tome V of his Collected Works...

This paper intends to analyse some effects of male dominance on the borderline area between Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay upon the educational processes and professional carriers of such student-teachers who were attending the Program for Teacher Formation on the Job in the area of Pedagogy sponsored by the Universidade da Regi??o da Campanha (Southernmost Plains Area University)/URCAMP/Bag??/RS, during the month of July 2003. These subjects were either married or engaged in a stable marital-like union and they are expected to build the present day local History of Education. It is comon knowledge that male dominance is inherited from the patriarchal family unit and the androcentric society that significantly influenced the formation of the gaucho society all along the XIXth Century; such a domination process was extended throughout the XXth Century until it began to peter out during the last decades. However, in the borderline area between southern Rio Grande do Sul and northern Uruguay it still makes its presence shown in the first years of the XXIst Century, due to this area peculiarities and by means of the Gaucho myth perpetuation. This dissertation has as it main focus the history lives of primary lay teachers, that is, teachers that started their professional lives without specific teaching formation. The aim of this study, however, is to investigate the social and professional trajectory of these teachers, searching for a discussion about how did they become teachers and their pedagogical practice. This research was done based on the history of thirteen primary lay teachers. The data gathering happened in two different ways: oral and written. The oral ones, were collected through free interviews, in which they had the freedom to speak about their personal and professional trajectories. The written ones, were given by the teachers or found in a school file, such as diary books, granted orientation for rural teachers, tests, certificates, and others. Nevertheless, the memory of primary lay teachers happened to be the main source. This work has as objective to analyze the directions of the culture written in the daily life of two farmers with little schooling, inhabitants of the agricultural zone of the cities of Pelotas and Morro Redondo (Rio Grande do Sul, BR). It is about to understand and to analyze the usual writing of dailies of two brothers: Aldo Schmidt (60 years) and Clemer Schmidt (56 years). Aldo used to write while still living in the paternal house, from 1972 to 1974, in his period of bachelor. In 1976, Aldo was married, constituted his family and continued writing dailies with the "new" family, as still makes currently. On the other hand, his brother Clemer started to write dailies in 1975, while single one, in the father s house, up to 1979, when he married and stopped to write. The methodology used is the analysis of the notebooks of dailies registers, together with oral history from half-structuralized interviews. The registers in the dailies are related to the organization of the work in the daily of the rural zone, as well as other aspects related to the climate, leisure and other social events of the farmer s life. This thesis seeks to reflect on how the power governamentality relation can contribute to today s educational praxis, based on Foucault s thought categories. From the understanding that the questioning Was ist Aufkl??rung? guides the diagnosis of Foucault s philosophy in a present-day ontology, we go back in philosophy history and propose that, while Kant elaborates the present from the Aufkl??rung concept, Foucault lays the foundation of his critical genealogy on the neologism governamentality , which is power technology operating at its full, a research tool, a lens that allows us to see how safety devices work. Leading the discussion towards Education, we realize that the educational praxis is a new way to guide children s behavior nowadays. It is not, however, something entirely detached from the educational praxis that existed until then, typical of a disciplinary society. A Escola de Belas Artes de Pelotas: da funda????o ?? federaliza????o (1949-1972) uma contribui????o para a hist??ria da educa????o em Pelotas; The present study is a historic research about an institution of university level: the Escola de Belas Artes de Pelotas (EBA), nowadays Instituto de Artes e Design of the Universidade Federal de Pelotas (IAD UFPEL). The investigation focus is the origin and the first 23 years of the institution, that is, from 1949, the year of its foundation, as a private course, until 1972, when it became a federal public educational institution. The work is carried out within the scope of the Cultural History theory proposition. The method adopted is that of documental research, mainly of the institution archives, of a private archive and through personal interviews conducted by the researcher. The findings of the research are treated according to the theoretic references adopted. The work investigates and analyses the conditions that leaded to the creation of this institution and also its trajectory until it became a federal institution (thus, in a parallel way, the study reveals elements that constructed the identity of the institution). To attempt to understand such a process, the work makes a recollection of the history of Pelotas, of the history of art teaching institutions, and investigates the participation of personalities that probably had decisive influence over the implementation of the studied art course. With the information obtained through this research it has been possible to infer that the advent of the school in 1949 occurred as a result of a combination of factors, such as the context ( the city of Pelotas ) and the action of individuals, as Dona Marina de Moraes Pires - whose efforts to offer to the city an art course of university level made the difference - and the Italian painter Aldo Locatelli the first painting teacher of the art course.

This work named The feminine presence in Pelotas-RS Law School , developed in the Education Faculty of Pelotas, research group History of Education, it is a study that is intimately connected to my life, for I am graduated in Law and in the juridical environment I captured a praxis that even silently drew differences between men and women in a place of a profession known as typically masculine. In the first part of the research we did the bibliographic review. The second part took place in the Law School of Pelotas, specifically the Academic Center Ferreira Viana, the School Library and the Public Library of Pelotas where we did some work with archives, journals, books, cassette tapes. During the research we realized that was no objections to feminine presence in the faculty as it is written in the Article 49 from the Law School statute of 1929. So I decided to start the master‟s dissertation research by that information and found out that the first woman student in Pelotas Law School was Cilulia de Freitas, who has entered the faculty in 1921, daughter of a Law Judge, intended to follow her father‟s professional steps but coursed until the fourth year when she decided to quit Law School to marry a class mate. This work aims at demonstrating the link between the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil and Freemasonry, especially with regard to the joint influence that these two institutions have had on the History of Education in Rio Grande do Sul, interfering markedly and acting together in the fight for secular education and for other religious denominations so that they could enter into the educational space. It is analyzed their interplay, but also their contradictions and paradoxes, presenting the point of view of the Anglican Church (unknown or almost unknown in academia) on the collisions in Education, having as essential corpus the documents of the Official Journal of the Anglican/Episcopal Church, the Christian Banner editions published between 1901 to 1970 (the year prior to Law 5692/71) that reports, pari passu, all the missionary work done by the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil, even bringing the Educational Project to Rio Grande do Sul. It was performed an exhaustive and critical reading of the Christian Banner, doing a triangulation among the interviews of Masons (and not Masons), the Masonic and Anglican documents analyzed and the photos, seen as historical documents from the period (and even the ones that are not from this period...

This report of dissertation presented to defense research line, in philosophy and history of education of the pos-graduation program of the education faculty of the Federal University of Pelotas, has its genesis in the investigation of the life history of ??nnio Amaral and comes up of many circumstances, and questions that intend to answer, being the base of this research is his personal life and his professional trajectory. These questions are involved in the problematic of how a teacher of professional education of the secondary school, brought teaching, research and extensions in a time when the bases to this type of education was the tecnicism. Furthermore, even in the superior education, some universities undertook only teaching, others, teaching and research, being uncommon the ones that prioritized teaching, research and extension as indissociable things. This trilogy was constitutionally established in 1988 [and authenticated on the ―Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educa????o Nacional‖ (LDB), law n?? 9.394 of December, 20, 1996, and till today, 14 years after the implantation of this law and 22 years after the new Brazilian Constitution, I evidence that this trilogy is not observed in all universitarian levels. This research sought to identify the assumptions of the process of the capoeira patrimony. For Both, this cultural well was historically considered, listing the main moments that metamorphosed from its early records still exist, its criminalization and decriminalization, its subsumption to capital to its most advanced stage of evolution as a Cultural Patrimony of Brazil. As a result of this process was analyzed from the discourses contained in documents that formalize their patrimony as well as the public policies implemented to capoeira to date. Countersigned by historical and dialectical materialism, this research found that the capoeira to be recognized by the Brazilian State, is perpetrated by the commodity fetish, so that its producers - Masters and Teachers - and its practitioners need to pay attention to the exploitation of the inherent labor relations for the production of capoeira at this stage of commodification. This present paper consists in a qualitative approach using the research-action form, from which the studying aim is the subject Hist??ria e Filosofia da Matem??tica, an optional curricular componet from a course in Licenciatura em Matem??tica. Believing that History of Math and technology, in special the blogs, build up potential pedagogical resources for the construction of a meaningful learning, its approaches are considered indispensable in courses for teachers degree. The history in classroom contributes for the demystification of the mathematics, pointing it as a science under construction, plausible of errors and without universal truths. Another favorable point regarding History of Math in the scholar environment is the possibility of rescuing cultures from which the economics and the politics are less improved is proposed. The technology, on the other hand, approached through blogs, is a component that can not be left behind in the contemporaneous society. Providing a current activity in the process of learning itself, the blog Hist??ria da Matem??tica was used as a pedagogical resource, in which the teacher made the material available for the meetings, and the pedagogical strategy, the space in which the undergraduate students built a collective digital portfolio.
