The developments occurring in recent years in the Information and Communication Technologies led inevitably to a great effect on the operation, structure and strategy of organizations around the world, and obviously also in the tourist sector organizations. With the rapid expansion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) throughout almost all aspects of tourism and hospitality industries, the task of integrating technology into education curriculum will be a need. Information and Communication Technologies appear one of the most critical area to the success of tourism in the future and the way it will promote the tourist destinations. This paper aims to analyze the relevance given by the various Portuguese and Spanish institutions of higher education to Information and Communication Technologies in their degrees. The analysis carried out was done in degree courses operating in this school year, 2012/2013, in Portuguese and Spanish universities and polytechnics, public and private.

Nowadays, e-learning, teleformation, or training based on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), play a fundamental role in the improvement of the learning processes that is taking place at the Universities. On the one hand, the incorporation of the ICT in a face-to-face, distance or blended modality and, on the other hand, the European convergence process, have influenced on the change and improvement of the institution, in general, and the teaching leaming process developed in Higher Education, in particular. Nevertheless, it could be necessary to remark that the basic objective is to improve the attention of the users (in our case, students of Education Sciences). Another important aim is to optimize the resources based on Internet. But, mainly, in order to promote innovating processes which simplify and make agile not only the work of the teaching staff and students but also the communication among them. The purpose of this paper is to find out if pre-service teachers prefer a virtual modality during the Practicum period, when they finish their studies on Education.

More high-tech firms are conducting their business over long distances due to the use of new information and communication technologies (ICT). However, regional scientists articulate that geographic proximity is still important, at least, to the high-tech industry and the knowledge-related business activities. My research offers a ground work for understanding the paradox - more dispersed high-tech business practices and higher geographic concentration of high-tech jobs in the new economy than before. Drawing from diverse regional and economic literatures, I suggest a paradox of new information communication technology regarding the location pattern of high knowledge-generating jobs. From this perspective, I found a dispersed concentration pattern of high knowledge-generating jobs due to less transitory tacit knowledge than codified knowledge and implicit communication; and business organization change. Both my longitudinal empirical analysis and interviews suggest that the jobs in the high knowledge-generating production industries in the United States became further concentrated during the 1990s.; (cont.) During the same period, the jobs in the high knowledge-generating customer-oriented industries dispersed. In the former industries...

In this paper we present an econometric model to determine whether an SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprise)'s probability of outsourcing depends on their levels of innovation and information and communication technology use. The predictions of the econometric model are tested by means of a LOGIT model using a cross section sample of an Argentinean SME for the year 2006. The model predicts that the level of innovation of an SME will significantly influence its probability of outsourcing. Besides, it stresses the negative incidence of the information and communication technologies (ICT) access on the outsourcing decision.
