This thesis perpetuates research aimed at deploying a diagnostic expert system for the MK 92 Mod 2 Fire Control System to 28 Oliver Hazard Perry class fast frigates. Referred to as the Maintenance Advisor Expert System (MAES) , this expert system is being jointly developed by the Naval Postgraduate School and Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC PHD). This thesis focuses on the long-term implementation issues related to deploying MAES to the fleet, integrating MAES into the formal training pipeline, and transitioning life cycle Support for MAES to NSWC PHD. MAES long-term implementation issues, which include hardware, software, documentation, and training requirements, are examined within the context of implementation factors and risks historically associated with deploying expert systems. Plans for deploying MAES to the fleet and integrating MAES into the formal training pipeline are provided. As part of the documentation necessary to transition life cycle support of MAES to NSWC, a System Level Description document is also provided
The MK 92 Mod 2 Fire Control System (FCS) is a complex, maintenance intensive shipboard weapon system found primarily aboard the Oliver Hazard Perry class guided missile frigates (FFG-7). This system, based on 1970's technology, frequently requires extensive troubleshooting and supplemental support from shore-based technical experts. A maintenance advisor expert system (MAES) is being developed by the Port Hueneme Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC-PHD) and the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) to assist the Fire Control technicians aboard ship to better isolate faults in the MK 92 Mod 2 FCS. This thesis furthers the efforts of the project at NPS by investigating key implementation issues that will affect the deployment of the initial version of MAES to the fleet. Additional deployment issues addressed in the thesis include incorporating lessons learned from deploying other expert systems in the armed forces, gaining support from individual chains of command, training MAES users effectively, involving MAES users in the implementation process, and changing hardware implementation issues. The Naval Postgraduate School In conjunction with Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Naval Surface Warfare Center is developing a diagnostic expert system for troubleshooting casualties in the MK 92 MOD 2 fire control system deployed in US Navy Oliver Hazard class (FFG-7) guided missile frigates. The high turnover rate of student developers and the frequency with which changes are made to the expert system have highlighted a need for controlling the change process and the management of resources applied to implementing those changes to the expert system's knowledge base and software. This thesis develops a configuration management plan for the MK92 Maintenance Advisor Expert System (MK92 MAES) to assist object members in the management of changes to software and domain knowledge. The concept of configuration management is examined in detail with specific emphasis on the challenges of its implementation to expert systems. Two automated configuration management tools, CCC/Manager and PVCS Version Control, are evaluated for suitability for application in an expert system development environment. Gravidez na Adolescência em Boa Vista - Roraima (Brasil) no ano de 2011: Fatores Predisponentes e Medidas de Prevenção.
O número elevado de gravidez na adolescência tem motivado estudos, em caráter mundial, pois repercute em todos os setores da vida das adolescentes, principalmente em seu processo educacional, na construção de sua independência econômica e em seus relacionamentos sociais, especialmente o familiar. O estudo teve o objetivo de identificar comportamentos e fatores familiares e socioculturais que contribuíram para a gravidez entre as adolescentes inscritas na Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF) no Município de Boa Vista/Roraima (Brasil) no ano de 2011. Foi desenvolvido nos termos de pesquisa exploratória com abordagem qualitativa. Para a coleta de dados foi usado um roteiro de entrevista contendo 53 questões (abertas e fechadas), aplicado junto às adolescentes grávidas inscritas nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde da Família, no período de 01 a 30 de junho de 2011. A amostra incluiu 110 adolescentes com idades compreendidas entre os 13 e os 19 anos, sendo a média de 16,5 anos. Os resultados mostram que: 98% das jovens sobrevivem com baixa renda; 90,91% possuem baixa escolaridade, apresentando uma evasão escolar de 55% dos casos motivada...
