Local star formation triggered by supernova shocks in magnetized diffuse neutral clouds

In this work, considering the impact of a supernova remnant (SNR) with a neutral magnetized cloud we derived analytically a set of conditions that are favourable for driving gravitational instability in the cloud and thus star formation. Using these conditions, we have built diagrams of the SNR radius, R(SNR), versus the initial cloud density, n(c), that constrain a domain in the parameter space where star formation is allowed. This work is an extension to previous study performed without considering magnetic fields (Melioli et al. 2006, hereafter Paper I). The diagrams are also tested with fully three-dimensional MHD radiative cooling simulations involving a SNR and a self-gravitating cloud and we find that the numerical analysis is consistent with the results predicted by the diagrams. While the inclusion of a homogeneous magnetic field approximately perpendicular to the impact velocity of the SNR with an intensity similar to 1 mu G within the cloud results only a small shrinking of the star formation zone in the diagram relative to that without magnetic field, a larger magnetic field (similar to 10 mu G) causes a significant shrinking, as expected. Legionella pneumophila, o agente etiológico da doença dos Legionários, é conhecida por desencadear a formação de poro em membranas de macrófagos derivados de medula óssea (BMMs) por mecanismos dependentes do sistema de secreção do tipo IV conhecido como Dot/Icm. Neste trabalho, foram utillizados vários mutantes de L. pneumophila em combinação com camundongos nocautes para investigar os fatores bacterianos e do hospedeiro envolvidos na formação de poro em BMMs. Observamos que apesar da atividade do Dot/Icm, a formação de poro não ocorre em BMMs deficientes para caspase-1 e Nlrc4. A formação de poro foi temporalmente associada com a secreção de IL-1b e precedeu a lise celular e a piroptose. A formação de poro foi dependente do Dot/Icm, mas independente de várias proteínas efetoras, da multiplicação bacteriana e da síntese de novo de proteínas. Neste trabalho investigamos os efeitos de choques (induzidos por supernovas) e de turbulência magneto-hidrodinâmica no processo de formação estelar. Primeiramente, considerando o impacto de um remanescente de supernova (RSN) com uma nuvem neutra magnetizada derivamos analiticamente um conjunto de condições através das quais estas interações podem levar à formação de estruturas densas capazes de tornarem-se gravitacionalmente instáveis e formar estrelas. Usando estas condições, construímos diagramas do raio do RSN, $R_$, versus a densidade inicial da nuvem, $n_c$, os quais delimitam um domínio no espaço paramétrico onde a formação estelar é permitida. Estes diagramas foram testados através de simulações numéricas magneto-hidrodinâmicas tridimensionais (3D MHD) onde seguimos a evolução espaço-temporal da interação de um RSN com uma nuvem auto-gravitante. Verificamos que a análise numérica está de acordo com os resultados previstos pelos diagramas. Observamos ainda que a presença de um campo magnético fraco, $\sim 1 \; \mu$G, inicialmente homogêneo e perpendicular à velocidade de impacto do RSN, resulta em uma pequena diminuição da região permitida para formação estelar nos diagramas quando comparado a diagramas para nuvens não magnetizadas. A formação de professores constitui-se como uma preocupação, especialmente pelo fato de ser um processo que forma formadores de outros. Neste âmbito, observa-se que os cursos de licenciatura têm feito parte de um extenso processo de expansão do ensino superior no Brasil, marcado essencialmente pelo aumento das instituições privadas e por condições que demonstram uma diminuição no tempo de formação, além da presença da racionalidade técnica na forma de valorização da instrumentalização dos alunos/futuros professores. Considerando os diversos olhares e críticas que geram extensa produção a respeito, não apenas a realidade política e seus resultados, mas compreende-se também a importância de verificar a visão dos atores presentes neste processo de formação. In this work we make an evaluation of influence of Program to Formation of Alphabetization s Teachers - PROFA that promotes the formation of teachers to give instruction in reading and writing to young people and adults, attending teachers that are working in schools of the municipal public educational net, specifically in União dos Palmares (Alagoas), during the period of 2000 to 2001. To carry through the inquiry, we launch hand of the qualitative research of explored nature involving theoretical study, techniques of documentary analysis and interviews. This last one was carried through with two alphabetization teachers that had participated integrally of the PROFA and remain teaching in adult and young people classrooms. By means of the interviews it was possible to catch their conceptions around the category abilities - theoretical base of the PROFA - and to analyze the paper of the cited Program in the acquisition of the subabilities for the alphabetization teachers. The treatment and analysis of these categories had been possible through the studied theoretical basement. Studies with focus in professional formation of Physical Education s teachers have being increasing recently. It appears that there is a concern with Initial formation, Continuing formation and with docents professional trajectory and docents life trajectory. Therefore, the objective of the study was to investigate the process of construction of Continuing Formation in Municipal Administration s Desporte and Education Bureau proposals, offered to Physical Education teachers, after the implementation of the Law 9.394/1996 (LDBEN) until the year of 2011. As specific objectives, on seek to investigate the process of administration of public politics about Continuing Formation; to search into the pedagogical co-ordinators belonging to Physical Education and to build a time line about the Continuing Formation proposals which are offered by SMED to Physical Education teachers, between the years 1996 and 2011. The University has been undergoing diverse transformations as meaning lighten the formation and dissociate it of the research, and especially of the extension. To give an account we seek to accomplish diagnosis of how has been developed the extension activities in Universities/Federal Centers of formation in Licenciatura in Physical Education from Rio Grande do Sul (Federal University of Santa Maria/UFSM, Federal University of Pelotas/UFPel and University Federal of Rio Grande do Sul/UFRGS) and the contribution of the extension to the formation of teachers. We use proceedings as literature research, documental research and field research. We used the final reports of the extension actions developed in 2011 and semi-structured interviews with nine teachers and 17 students participants of the actions. The analytical process of documentary sources was based on content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977) and held the light of the contributions of Saviani (1996), Mazzili (2011), Botom?? (2001), Castro (2004) among others. The results revealed that a considerable amount of extension actions is of character assistentialist. The indissociability is still struggling to become effective within universities. La présente recherche a comme premier objectif d’étudier l’effet de la formation des ressources humaines sur la performance organisationnelle. Le concept de formation des ressources humaines, tel que considérée ici, comporte deux dimensions : l’intensité et l’incidence de la formation mesurées respectivement par la proportion des coûts investis et par la proportion d’employés formés. Les dimensions de la performance organisationnelle retenues sont la productivité et la rentabilité financière. Le second objectif de cette recherche est d’étudier l’effet modérateur du roulement du personnel dans la relation entre la formation et la performance organisationnelle. Les données de la présente recherche sont de nature secondaire. Il s’agit des données colligées par Jalette (1998) auprès de la Fédération des Caisses Desjardins de Montréal et de l’Ouest-du-Québec pour sa thèse de doctorat. Au total, 288 caisses ont été considérées pour la présente étude. Les analyses de régression multiple ont été effectuées dans le but de vérifier l’effet de chaque dimension de la formation sur chaque dimension de la performance organisationnelle. Quatre analyses de régression hiérarchiques nous ont permis de tester l’effet modérateur du roulement du personnel dans la relation entre la formation des ressources humaines et la performance organisationnelle. Les milieux de travail canadiens présentent des visages diversifiés et en pleine mutation. En raison de facteurs tels que les nouvelles technologies, la mondialisation, l’économie du savoir ou encore l’évolution démographique, la transformation des entreprises canadiennes passe par une main-d’œuvre qualifiée, adaptable et de qualité. Notre recherche s’inscrit dans le cadre des études s’intéressant aux comportements des entreprises en matière d’investissement en capital humain au Canada. Nous avons retenu un cadre théorique qui est constitué principalement de la théorie du capital humain, de celle des ressources internes et de l’approche des coûts et des bénéfices. Pour les fins de notre recherche, nous retenons une approche quantitative longitudinale, en utilisant des données secondaires issues du questionnaire des employeurs de l’Enquête sur le milieu de travail et les employés pour les années 1999 à 2005 inclusivement. La nature longitudinale de l’EMTE permet de corriger pour les biais liés à l’hétérogénéité non observée des firmes et à l’endogénéité possible de la variable de formation. The Diagenetic History of the Nepean Formation, Kingston, Ontario

A part of the Potsdam Group, the Nepean Formation is a Cambrian to Ordovician-aged, medium to fine-grained quartz arenite that outcrops near Kingston, Ontario. The Nepean Formation rests unconformably on Precambrian basement and consists of detrital quartz grains that are separated by a range of cements including hematite, calcite, and silica overgrowths, as well as late-stage burial illite and kaolinite after detrital feldspar. There have been two approaches with respect to the stratigraphy of this unit. One widely accepted scheme divides the Nepean Formation into two distinct facies: an aeolian facies with extensive large-scale cross bedding and adhesion ripples, which is overlain by a thinner package that is marine in origin. The temporal separation between the facies is not thought to be large. The newer, alternative nomenclature suggested by Sanford and Arnott (2010) is much more complex and suggests the presence of two sequence boundaries within the outcrops being studied and, therefore, three separate formations. Thin-section analysis indicates that the paragenetic sequence begins with early pre- to syn-depositional hematite rims on detrital quartz grains, followed by pore-filling hematite primarily along the flooding surface that separates the aeolian and marine deposits. The Miminiska Metasedimentary terrane is host to Algoma type archean iron formation of economic grade (15-45 wt % Fe2O3). The regional greenstone locality, as well as interpretation of turbidite sequences within the Miminiska metasedimentary basin supports the interpretation of an Algoma type iron formation. A major requirement for the deposition of iron formation is a restricted or closed basin. This structural trap is a defining feature of Algoma type deposits, and is likely what allowed the accumulation of the sedimentary facies as well as the iron formation. Mineralogy (oxide facies, with some silicate facies minerals present) suggests a shallow water environment of deposition. The iron formation shows cyclicity with alternating quartz-magnetite and epidote-riebeckite-aluminosilicate layers. The relative abundance of minerals such epidote, aluminosilicates (sillimanite, staurolite, cordierite, andalusite), magnetite, and quartz vary within the alternating layers. Other minerals characteristic of this formation include lawsonite, grunerite, tremolite, biotite, plagioclase, microcline, hematite and chloritoid. Layers range in thickness from mm to dm scale. Rapid advances in sensing, computing and communication technologies have led to considerably increased research activities in multi-robot systems over the last decade. Topics include multi-robot motion planning, cooperative manipulation, aerial applications involving cooperative exploration of the unknown environment, automated highway systems, software architectures for multi-robot systems, and formation control. Multi-robot systems have been proven to offer additional advantages in terms of flexibility in operating a group of robots and failure tolerance due to redundancy in available mobile robots. However, the benefits of using multi-robot teams do not come without cost. Coordinating teams of autonomous robots is much more challenging than maneuvering a single robot. This dissertation addresses formation control problems, which are among the most active research topics in multi-robot systems. La formation de la main-d’œuvre est l’objet d’une littérature scientifique abondante depuis plusieurs années. D’une manière générale, les principaux sujets étudiés dans la littérature scientifique, les travaux empiriques et dans les politiques publiques traitent du rendement de la formation de la main-d’œuvre ou plus récemment de la dimension stratégique de la formation de la main-d’œuvre sur la performance organisationnelle. Or, les résultats produits sont mitigés, peu convaincants, voire contradictoires (Cedefop, 2013, 2005). En conséquence, les chefs d’entreprises et les décideurs en matière de politiques publiques manquent de démonstrations claires pour évaluer les impacts de la formation sur la performance des organisations. Dans cette recherche, nous proposons justement d’apporter un nouvel éclairage théorique et empirique pour mieux comprendre les caractéristiques des entreprises qui évaluent le rendement de la formation, comment le font-elles et quelles sont les retombées perçues en la matière. Sur le plan théorique, cette recherche mobilise trois approches différentes dans un modèle analytique qui se veut intégratif. La multiplication des formations professionnelles universitaires (FPU) a poussé plusieurs chercheurs à s’intéresser aux caractéristiques de ces formations, leur perméabilité à une multitude de pressions étant l’une des plus fréquemment relevées. Ainsi, les unités responsables de FPU sont confrontées à des pressions diverses et souvent contradictoires. Si les écrits scientifiques sur les FPU témoignent bien de cette réalité, ceux-ci nous informent moins bien de la manière dont les unités responsables de ce type de formation répondent à ces pressions. Cette thèse a donc fait appel à plusieurs concepts de l’approche institutionnelle issue de la sociologie des organisations pour analyser l’évolution récente de la FPU destinée aux directions d’établissement scolaire (DES) du Québec, un champ qui a connu d’importantes transformations au cours des vingt-cinq dernières années. Construite sur une étude de cas interprétative dite à « unités enchâssées » (Yin, 2003), cette thèse s’est intéressée à l’évolution de cette formation dans deux unités universitaires francophones : le Département d’administration et fondements de l’éducation de l’Université de Montréal et le Département de gestion de l’éducation et de la formation de l’Université de Sherbrooke. Dans le contexte actuel de l’éducation au Québec où la réforme des programmes de formation des jeunes appelle un renouvellement des pratiques d’enseignement, notre recherche s’intéresse au développement de la dimension didactique de la pratique liée à l’enseignement des mathématiques qui est considéré comme l’un des éléments clés des nouvelles orientations. Nous abordons la question par le biais de la collaboration de formation initiale pour l’enseignement des mathématiques au primaire qui se vit en stage entre des praticiennes en exercice et en formation et une didacticienne des mathématiques. Cette rencontre sur le terrain des stages au primaire entre praticiennes et didacticienne, longtemps réclamée et rendue possible à l’UQAT , nous a amené à formuler une première question de recherche touchant ce qui se construit à travers les échanges de ces partenaires de la formation au cours des supervisions pédagogiques conjointes qui les réunissent en stage. Nous avons cadré ce questionnement à partir des balises théoriques de la didactique professionnelle qui proposent modèle et concepts pour expliciter l’activité professionnelle et traiter des phénomènes de développement des compétences professionnelles en contexte de travail et de formation. La didactique professionnelle attribue un rôle essentiel à la communauté de pratique et au processus d’analyse de l’expérience dans le développement professionnel des novices et dans l’explicitation d’un savoir d’action jugé pertinent et reconnu. Nous y faisons donc appel pour poser le potentiel que représentent les échanges issus de la collaboration quant à leur contribution à l’établissement d’un savoir de référence pour l’enseignement des mathématiques. La didactique professionnelle propose également le recours au concept de schème pour décrire l’activité professionnelle et à l’idée de concepts organisateurs comme élément central de l’activité et comme variable de la situation professionnelle concernée. Partout dans le monde, la formation en gestion des cadres infirmiers est devenue une nécessité. Afin de doter la profession infirmière de chefs de file capables de faire face aux changements, plusieurs pays ont conçu des programmes de formation de deuxième cycle en administration des services de soins infirmiers. Plusieurs programmes sont développés en ce sens dont peu ou prou sont évalués. Plusieurs auteurs croient que l’évaluation de ces programmes permettrait de mieux apprécier l’atteinte des objectifs pédagogiques et ultérieurement, d’améliorer la formation et les pratiques de gestion. Afin de contribuer à ce projet, la présente étude vise à évaluer le programme de formation Administration et enseignement de l'École nationale de développement sanitaire et social (ENDSS) du Sénégal. Cette évaluation prend en compte les points de vue des diplômés, des enseignants, des concepteurs du programme et des directions d’hôpitaux. Il s’agit d’une recherche évaluative de type rétrospectif. Cette recherche avait pour objectif d’évaluer l’effet du dispositif de formation « Zoom sur l’expertise pédagogique », ou, plus précisément, d’évaluer l’effet d’un parcours de formation créé grâce à ce dispositif et intégrant des exemples de pratiques sur vidéo sur les apprentissages et les intentions de changement de pratique d’un groupe d’enseignants du primaire relativement à la compétence professionnelle « Piloter des situations d’enseignement-apprentissage ». La réforme des programmes scolaires, qui s’installe progressivement depuis 2001, modifie considérablement les orientations en matière d’apprentissage et d’enseignement. Sa réussite repose notamment sur l’appropriation de nouvelles compétences professionnelles souvent difficiles à développer pour le personnel enseignant. À ces besoins de formation, les modalités de formation continue proposées ne semblaient répondre que partiellement. This work has as the theme teacher formation, and its objective is to analyze the process of teachers’ formation in licentiate degree at the Goiano Federal Institute, from politics, curriculum and professors who compose the courses. The assumption that guides the analysis is that these courses present character of teacher formationfor bachelor's degree programs. Nowadays, the offering of these courses, especially the ones in the area of natural sciences and mathematics, is a reality of the expansion of the government politics for teacher formation. In order to reveal the object, it was decided to use two methodological strategies: a) proposition of questionnaires, b) analysis of documents such as: curriculum matrices of licentiate courses, pedagogical projects of course, official texts of the Goiano Federal Institute and of the National Council of Education. Estes quarenta últimos anos testemunharam, na França, o nascimento das Ciências da Educação (1967) e da formação permanente de adultos (lei de 1971). Esses nascimentos foram trabalhados pelas construções da abordagem sistêmica, de traços de união entre a pesquisa, a ação e a formação, e, mais recentemente, da transdisciplinaridade. A carreira do autor foi conduzida por esses movimentos de nascimento e construção sócio-cognitiva, com o surgimento correspondente de postos profissionais de pesquisador e professor-pesquisador. Numa primeira parte, o autor identifica e situa suas práticas de utilização pessoal da sistêmica e da pesquisa-ação: períodos de emergência distinta (1968-1980), de aproximação paradigmática (1980-1992) e, por fim, de construção paradigmática (1992-2005). Uma segunda parte expõe uma modelização paradigmática. Essa modelização confronta o paradigma pedagógico-positivista que estrutura a pesquisa normal em educação com a emergência de elementos paradigmáticos novos em pesquisas-ações-formações originais.
