Starting from the idea that the result of the Humean analysis of causal inferences must be applied coherently to the remaining part of his work, including its moral theory, the present master thesis aims at investigating whether Hume´s moral philosophy is essentially based on feeling, or whether this would not be rather essentially a consequence of our causal inferences in human actions and deliberations. The main idea consists in showing that our moral inferences, to the extent that they are for Hume empirical , depend on our belief in a connexion between something which has been previously observed and something which is not being observed ( but that it is expected to occur or to be observed in the future). Thus, this very belief must base our moral inferences concerning the actions and deliberations of the individuals. Therefore, must e o ipso induce us to associate actions and behaviors, as well as character and moral claims of men to certain moral feelings. Accordingly, the thesis is unfolded in three chapters. A fundamentação metafísica do direito a que nos propomos a esclarecer na filosofia de Kant assume não somente uma análise de temas jurídicos. Temos uma questão filosófica de fundo a tratar: a justiça é possível? Tal indagação não é o tema do texto, mas o que está pressuposto. A análise kantiana, de certo modo, assume metafisicamente a possibilidade da justiça a partir do conceito de liberdade. Mas, com base na liberdade, demonstra a possibilidade da justiça na ética e no direito. A dissertação é composta por três capítulos. No primeiro capítulo, partindo da reconstrução inicial do conceito de liberdade na Crítica da Razão Pura, descrevemos a construção do conceito cosmológico de liberdade transcendental a partir do terceiro conflito antinômico e de sua solução na Dialética Transcendental. This work deals with the relationship between medicine and philosophy, which has existed since Antiquity, and will also be discussed here from Kant s perspective. It presents the historical context formed by reciprocal influences of common notions regarding health/disease, balance/justice, and just measure, which are present in the medical discourse as much as in the philosophical one. It considers that Hippocratic medicine emerges from concerns about dietetics, thus creating the link between philosophy and medicine, which is important for our analysis on Kant s contributions to Hippocratic legacy. Taking into account these considerations, the work distinguishes between two aspects which are associated within the dietetics presented by Kant in his work The conflict of the faculties, studied here in the light of his Doctrine of virtue, particularly the duties to oneself in regard the care of one s body and the teleological conception. The concept of formativity, coined by Luigi Pareyson, is a key to the development of countless contemporary aesthetic studies. The aim of this dissertation is to present a deep understanding of the notion of Formativity and Interpretation, as evidenciated by the title Formativity and Interpretation: the aesthetical philosophy of Luigi Pareyson. The work Aesthetics - Theory of Formativity, first published in 1954, is considered a mark in the rebirth of aesthetics. In this dissertation, the concept of Formativity is examined as a component applicable to every human action, and not limited to pre-determined practices, nor referred to the application of preexisting. I ve performed an investigation of the triple concept of doing-inventing-interpreting, which simultaneously grounds Formativity. In the first section, Pareyson s Aesthetical Propaedeutic is presented; in the second, the Theory of Formativity: the aesthetical character of the whole human experience is analysed; and in the third chapter, The Aesthetical of Form and the Metaphysics of Figuration is related to the formativity character of the knowledge. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior; Da relação entre autárkeia (autarquia) e eleuthería (liberdade) emerge o sentido de liberdade na filosofia de Epicuro (341-270 a.C.). Essas noções foram textualmente relacionadas nas Sentenças Vaticanas. Esta perspectiva é privilegiada por pôr às claras a diferença entre o sentido geral de liberdade e seu sentido específico. Este último se identifica com a noção grega de eleuthería. O sentido geral de liberdade abrange a physiología (investigação da natureza) e ética epicuristas. The objective of this dissertation is to present Gottlob Frege s criticism of psychologism in Mathematics and Logic. Our working hypothesis is that Frege s criticism is based on his notion of an "abstract object". In order to investigate this hypothesis we will contrast the pre and post paradox phases of Fregean s philosophy. We will try to show that there is a continuity between these two periods, and that this continuity depends on Frege s insistence in maintaining the notion of an "abstract object", even if in a somewhat weakened version. Our dissertation will be divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, we will make a brief characterization of psychologism in order to circumscribe the exact focus of Frege s criticism. In the second chapter we will discuss the notion of an "abstract object" in the pre-paradox period of Frege s philosophy and its connection to Frege s main concern: that of defining number upon a pure logical basis. Eventually, in the third chapter, we will show how, even without a logically unassailable method of introducing logical objects, due to Russell s paradox, the philosopher does not give up his main theses concerning the nature of logic and mathematics. Ethics has as goal the care with Self (conscience), politics, the care with the world. This is, in short, the reason why Hannah Arendt establishes firstly a rupture between ethics and conscience, and secondly between the world and politics. Taking as the principal theoretical point the activity of thinking as both sides are related to thinking the aim of this thesis is to analyze the rupture between ethics and politics according to H. Arendt‟s analyses. This work will show that, in spite of being able to justify such decision, ethics and conscience are not seen as unrelated to the world and that politics can vie equally to the existence of an ethics underlain in thought. Therefore, besides ascertaining the theoretical nature of the rupture, this work aims at questioning this rupture itself. In this dissertation we will defend Lewis Modal Realism (LMR), i.e., the metaphysical hypothesis about the real existence of a plurality of worlds. We will try to show the pragmatic character of Lewis arguments in support of this metaphysics of possible worlds. In this sense, we approximate Lewis (1986) and Quine (1960) and we aim to show that Lewis uses criteria for taking ontological decisions similar to those defended by Quine. These criteria are: simplicity of formulation, theoretical economy and distrust in purely intuitive criteria as only guide for Philosophy. To accomplish our intention, we divided the text in three chapters. In the first we present the philosophical benefits of LMR that demonstrate the theoretical utility of possible-worlds talk. These benefits are related to important concepts in Philosophy of Language and Epistemology, such as, Modality, Counterfactuals and a uniform treatment to Properties and Propositions. In our text we present a discussion about the sense of Other to transcendental subjectivity, through a dialogue with husserlian phenomenology, aiming to evidence its elements and constituent aspects. Therefore, we begin with the approach and enlightenement of phenomenologic method, as a fundament of primary and rigorous philosophy. From its gradual briefing, we follow expliciting structures of pure consciousness, which led us to the disclosure, constitution and unity of the transcendental subject. Then we dedicated to the unveiling of the Self totality, through reducing sphere of ownness. An overriding moment of introducing the problem of the Other under primordiality, that passes through a tonic of constitution of world objectivity and taking consciousness of the self. This work has a purpose to discuss about Rousseau´s thoughts about the possibility of doing the right thing in the society. The philosopher from Geneva, to work on this possibility, plead mainly about the people´s primitive condition and his degeneration with the society´s advent. We will study some Jean-Jacques Rousseau´s works to discuss the way from the wild man, passing through his corruption until a political redemption proposal by the establishment of the Republic. This dissertation tries to show the relationship between the physical and the political theories of Thomas Hobbes. This is possible because Hobbes made no distinction between the way in which physical bodies and humans move: every body moves as a result of the action of another body. When a body is affected by another, movements or conatus appear within itself that can manifest externally, determining its trajectory. In man, those conatus appear in the form of sentiments: desire or aversion. The conatus desire or aversion unchain other passions such as fear, courage, hope, despair etc. However, it is those conatus that play the role of determining choices and human behavior. Given the force of those passions, the State has to exert the tremendous power that Hobbes allows to the sovereign. This dissertation aims to reflect upon the present times in the light of the concepts presented by Hannah Arendt in her work The Human Condition, which, by defining man as a conditioned being, examines the categories of active life labor, work and action and their location on the world. Half a century after the book has been published, Arendt s reflection continues up to date and inspiring. Within this period, consume, technology and ecology have changed the world and increased society s complexity. In this present work, it will be attempted an inquirement on the theorization of a world federative system idealized by the german philosopher Immanuel Kant. In this thesis, Line Research Foundation of Educational Processes, philosophy and education field studies investigate the work of Cornelius Castoriadis and his concept of autonomy. The possible implications for the meaning of human formation and the boundaries set by the formation of reflective and deliberative subjectivities are a main theme. Divided into four chapters, the paper discusses the institution of society and the concept of radical imaginary; Castoriadis creates a fundamental distinction between autonomy and heteronomy then explains the development process of the individual by society. The next chapter investigates how Castoriadis interprets the experience of Greek thought, particularly the creation of philosophy and democracy, basic individual design and collective autonomy. In the third chapter, a resurgence in Modernity is studied. These implications as well as affects from the distant past can be seen in politics and education here. What is at issue in ancient Greece and modern Europe is a collective project of autonomy inseparable from the way sociological ideals and education. The significations of that historical period, especially these key concepts present in this discipline, are emancipatory in its normative dimensions. Mas ao contrário dos estudos sobre ele, que discutem o corpo sobretudo em Vigiar e Punir e na História da Sexualidade, delimitaremos como objeto o corpo na obra O Nascimento da Clínica, livro que faz uma história do surgimento do corpo-organismo com a emergência da medicina moderna, mais precisamente com a anatomia e fisiologia de Bichat. As dissecações feitas por este médico, no final do século XVIII, possibilitaram às ciências da vida o afastamento do legado de Descartes, que concebe o corpo como uma máquina. Ao traçar esta descontinuidade que culminou com o advento do corpo com órgãos, Foucault provoca uma cisão na história da relação da filosofia com o corpo, que era sempre pensado em referência ao corpo-alma de filosofia cartesiana.

This work, named "Philosophy of Language - Philosophy of History presents some ideas about the concept of history of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin (1892-1940). It aims to establish a dialogue between conceptual nuances of the philosophy of language, theory of experience, philosophy of artworks and epistemology of Walter Benjamin to present the structure and the deployment of its design, its concept of history from his philosophy language. Such intent may be submitted by the assertion that in the origin - a category of Benjamin‟s philosophy - the concept of history Walter Benjamin is established within his philosophy of language. Thus this work opens with a commentary and analysis of two remarkable writings of German philosopher, where it states his philosophy of language. The reflection proposed in this work also involves examining a series of tests that appears in the theory of experience and by reflection on the essays of Walter Benjamin where the relationship between his philosophy of language and philosophy of artworks that illuminates. Finally unfolds analysis and commentary of the text's fundamental theory of knowledge and the concept of history, where the connections - the structure and deployment of the philosopher's concept of history appear more clearly within and in his philosophy of language. This dissertation is aimed at analyzing Hannah Arendt's concept of Action, and consequently Power, and at showing how these two concepts are essential to the constitution of a genuine Public Space, where freedom and politics reign. I intend to divide it into three general parts, each containing pedagogically necessary subdivisions. On the first part, I will analyze Arendt's distinction between the three central categories for the understanding of modern times: labor, work and action. The action, seen as a pre-politics subjective realm, is the theoretical core of this chapter, along with how the action, side by side with speech, happens on human relations, on an inter-subjective realm. The second part talks about the unfolding of Action throughout the history of mankind, pointing out its many different interpretations, misconceptions and refutations over the centuries. This study is an analysis of the development of the concept of free will in the introduction of Hegel's Philosophy of Law. In this text, Hegel discusses the concept of will in three figures (Gestalt) or three levels (Stufen), which are the natural will, free will and free will in and of itself. The first two figures reveal finitely freedom, while the latter expresses it so infinite. Therefore, the analysis of the development of these levels will focus on the problem of finitude and infinitude of manifestation and realization of freedom in the objective world of the spirit. The problem of this theme, in fact, is that the will, as a moment (Moment) of self-determination of free spirit, by its nature has the presupposition and starting point. Thus, to investigate the issue of freedom of the will in their different ways of expression, is to investigate, first of all, the relationship between freedom and nature, or rather, is to investigate the relationship between self-determination of the will with its contents volitional natural such as desires and inclinations. Therefore, the analysis of this thesis uses the theming of Hegel made in the Philosophy of Subjective Spirit, where the philosopher addresses the relationship between speculative nature and free spirit.
